Delurk yer asses! Newbies welcome.

Here’s an oh-so-clever and quite optional FAQ:

Q: What IS this ApRiL fOoLiGaNs? It’s not April Fool’s day.
A: The 1st ApRiL fOoLiGaNs was on 4/01/04. The name it terribly silly and somehow it stuck. This is the 3rd one.

Q: Is it a Tribe party? Who all goes?
A: Sorta. Tribe don’t gimme no cash or nuttin’ but Tribe, the site, definitely made these parties possible. There are people from a smattering of different communities—I’m a cross-fertilization activist of sorts and do typically practice radical inclusion. I’d just prefer that true creepy assholes stay away.

Q: What if I don’t know anybody that’s going?
A: Then I’d say it’s about time you delurk yer ass. Don’t worry if you don’t know nobody---it won’t stay that way (we take certain measures). I’d say check out some of the profiles of some of the people on the party tribe and see if you go “yick, they look horrible” or “wow, they have fun” and ask yourself if you’d like to be in the same room as them. You can even introduce yourself and see pix of past buffoonery at:
evilalipresents.tribe.net.

Q: Is it all thumpah-thumpah music? I can’t take 8 hrs of that.
A: No, Oasis has 2 rooms of music and we have a range from punk rock, indie pop, breaks & techno (and prolly some other stuff too). Ricky Lee Robinson bringing pop/rock originals & my favorite sing-a-longs (www.rickyleerobinson.com).

Q: C’mon, 6pm? When does the party REALLY start?
A: Since we have 8 hrs to play around with the evening starts nicely after work, with many folks opting to enjoy a sit-down dinner of yummy African fare--including dodo, my favorite name for a dish, ever. If you get there super-early I’ll prolly make you move tables or rub my shoulders or something.

Q: Ali, are you a professional promoter or something? Why do you do these parties?
A: Nope, but I am a Cat Herder (Member, CHU Local 451 since 2003). Early 2004, when Tribe was really kicking into gear with some real-life communities gaining traction, I had one of those moments of wanting to do SOMETHING that I’d never done, just for the WTF of it. Had always thought it’d be cool to throw a party at a club, but wasn’t really in the club scene, save from knowing a few DJs. Canyon introduced me to Fish at Oasis--we were on. Add to that my Doorbitch/Greeters, DJs, Ricky Lee Robinson & Mark Growden, the Projection Crew and, ah yes, the Erotic Ice Bar—with its upright citizens who so diligently administer spankings/floggings & iceshots and we had it going on!

Q: Can I get involved?
A: This time ‘round I’m thinking it’d be awesome to have a CUDDLE POOL & HOOKAH LOUNGE. I’m sure Oasis would be cool with it, but I should prolly check. They love the ice bar and all these lovely friendly freaks. So if you have a few pillows to bring or smushables, please hop on the tribe and say so. Kevin, the uberest of dads, is on the PROJECTIONS detail. So if you wanna show some stuff, hop on the tribe and say so (I’ll try to get as much cool stuff up there, but I’m not superorganized about these things and prolly can’t coordinate that much (Guess you could just bring a dvd/cd and get it into Kevin’s hands at da party). Not sure if If I can get my act together, I’d love to do a little photo portrait show up on the outside sky-reaching walls. Scary.

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!
Hugs,
Ali
